Teaching Today, Leading Tomorrow - Glendo Schools

Spring has sprung in Glendo! As the fourth quarter gears up, students and staff are working hard at doing what Glendo does best: supporting students’ passions, designing individualized learning, and unwavering commitment to whole student growth. This has also been a month full of celebrations of our students' accomplishments. Our FFA chapter had the opportunity to compete and show off their skills in Cheyenne this month under the guidance of their dedicated advisor, Mr. Teten after months of practice and hard work.
Their accomplishments include:

● State Champion Agriscience Team in Animal Science-Carlee and Braidy
● State Champion Agriscience Team in Power Structure and Technical Systems-Clay and Tra
● High Individual in Agricultural Mechanics-Clay
● High Individual in Poultry Judging-Tra
● Second in Sweepstakes
● Second High Team in Junior High School Poultry Judging
● Second in the Greenhand Quiz Bowl
● Second Place Agriscience Team in Plant Systems- Eleanor and Riley
● Third Place Agriscience Team in Food Products and Processing Systems-Nadaley
● Third Place Agriscience Project in Plant Systems-Kendra
● 3rd High Junior High School Team in Horse Judging
These highlights don’t even begin to cover the numerous other placings and fantastic accomplishments of every student that attended the State FFA Convention. Glendo is also extremely proud of Kendra, the first 6th grader ever to compete in Prepared Speaking, who placed top ten in the state! Earlier this month as well, students placed second in the Poultry Judging at Casper College. We are extremely proud of the hard work and dedication students have put into representing Glendo across the state.
The Glendo Middle and High School students were also able to take the opportunity to watch new technology in action, observing drone application of fertilizer at the Curtis Ranch. The students are all extremely thankful for the opportunity to watch this technology in action.
This month, track season has been picking up under the careful coaching of Mrs. Eller. Carlee attended her first meet, where she PR’d in two events. We also want to congratulate Carlee on her placing as a finalist in the American Dream Essay Contest.
Another exciting opportunity has presented itself to Glendo High School students, with college classes being incorporated into the schedule to allow for dual enrollment. We are so excited to see the lengths our secondary students will soar to as we continue to chase excellence around every corner. Go Eagles!
