Learning Lives Here - Wheatland Middle School

As the new school year started, students were welcomed back with a couple of noticeable additions to WMS. First, students walked into the hallways with a fresh coat of paint. The shades of blue provide a clean and up to date space for students to learn. Next, students at WMS have been enjoying the new schedule and the nice weather to be able to go play at recess and use the new playground equipment. WMS, with the help from Platte County Parks and Recreation, was able to purchase a Gaga Ball pit, a swing set, and a rope climbing structure. WMS has reworked the daily schedule to include a nutrition break, added 10 minutes to lunch for a longer recess, and added an afternoon recess. Research shows that students need time to be active in order to activate learning and we are excited for these new opportunities!
Go Dawgs! That’s how we BARK!
