The 2024 Art Symposium was held April 17th - 19th at the Ford Events Center Casper. Ms. Brandt took 25 students and submitted 81 pieces for review.
Aunnaleia Speiker won a blue ribbon for her ceramic dragon sculpture light. She used clay to sculpt the dragon head and clear glass domes for the eyes. She placed a small LED light inside to create the glow of the dragon's eyes and created small butterflies to place around the head and nose of the dragon.
Courtney Dumont won two blue ribbons for her wood burn elk and a mixed media coffee and graphite drawing. Courtney also won a First Ladies Choice Award for her Bison Woodburn.The First Ladies Choice Award is a is given to artwork selected by the First Lady to hang in the Govenors Mansion for the year. It will be returned to the artist during next year's symposium. She has also been invited by the First Lady of Wyoming to a luncheon and awards ceremony to be held at a later date.
