Wheatland Middle School uses The Northwest Evaluation Association's (NWEA) Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) assessments to better guide instruction and to helps students to find strengths and weaknesses in their learning. At the middle school we assess students in the Fall, Winter, and Spring to help provide well-rounded instruction in Math and English-Language Arts. The principal uses the assessment results to see how a grade level and the school is performing.
MAP tests are grade independent and adapt to each student's instructional level. They also provide data on typical growth for students with similar starting achievement levels, which can help teachers develop equitable instruction. MAP testing helps students in several ways, including:
1. Personalized Learning:
2. Self-Awareness:
3. Progress Monitoring:
By providing valuable insights into student performance, MAP testing ultimately benefits students by helping them achieve their full potential.
