On December 6, 2024, Platte #1 teachers who are involved in the first cohort of the RIDE initiative presented their work to their peers. Governor Gordon’s RIDE initiative encourages teachers to think outside the box to increase the impact teachers have in the classroom. Platte #1 has focused on expanding internship and work experiences as well as enhancing student driven assessments. Teachers presented on topics of developing portfolios, one to one teacher/student conferences, and student choice to demonstrate learning. In early May, the Platte #1 teachers will present their projects to peers from around the state of Wyoming at the statewide RIDE celebration.

Cohort #2 is underway this semester. There is another group of teachers who are planning to develop opportunities for their students. Platte #1 supports teachers in their continued learning for the benefit of their students. When we all learn and grow together, our educational system is strengthened.
