Teaching middle school students how to weld in Ag classes offers a multitude of benefits, extending far beyond the acquisition of a practical skill.  It provides students with a unique opportunity to develop life skills such as problem-solving, critical thinking, and hand-eye coordination.  Welding requires precision and attention to detail, encouraging students to think critically about each step of the process and find solutions to challenges that may arise.

With the introduction of welding to students at Wheatland Middle School, it can spark an interest in skilled trades and potentially open up career pathways that students might not have otherwise considered.  With the increasing demand for skilled workers in manufacturing and construction industries, early exposure to welding can provide students with a competitive edge and a sense of direction as they enter high school and postsecondary education.
